Elevation Views Editor tool can help edit all elevation views of current model all at once in a nice single place.

After the ribbon button is clicked, a window will appear.

Revit Length Unit & Precision group indicates Revit length unit and precision that is set in current model.

Options for Changing group specifies some extra control over editing level cells and columns.

• Apply Change to the Cell Itself without Others being Affected: each cell value can change by itself; others will not be affected.
• Apply Change to Cells under the Same Column (NOT X/Name/Point): if a cell value is changed, others under the same column (except for X/Name/Point) will be changed to the same value.
• Apply Change to Cells on Chosen Rows (NOT X/Name/Point Column): if a cell value is changed, others on chosen rows under the same column (except for X/Name/Point) will also be changed.

Filtering Templates: what criteria to use to filter templates for each view.

• Use All: to use all templates for each view whatever its discipline or view type is.
• Filter By: to filter templates by the following factors:
  • Discipline: to filter templates by the discipline of the view on that row.
  • View Type: to filter templates by the view type of the view on that row.
  • If all are checked, both discipline and type of the view will be used to filter its template list.

Here are some samples for filtering templates settings and resultant template list for a single elevation view.

Data Grid:

The data grid provides information and allows edition for all existing elevation views. Each row represents a view. Each column represents a property or parameter of the view. Some columns are read-only such as View Type. Columns are of edit box, check box, or combo box type.

Each cell is editable or read-only based on some conditions to avoid confusions and potential errors. All cells in each row are associated with each other. For example, if a template is selected, the Discipline, Phase Filter, Display Mode, Detail Model, Parts Visibility, and Scale cells will all be changed to the corresponding values of the template and the cells become read-only afterwards.

Buttons (from left to right, top to down):

• Erase Chosen: to erase chosen concerns.
• Duplicate Chosen: to duplicate chosen concerns.
• Export Chosen: to export chosen concerns to a HTML report file.

• Apply: to apply changes to the model.
• Cancel: to dismiss the dialog without doing anything to the model.
• OK: to close the dialog and make changes into the model accordingly.

If all rows are chosen and the Export Chosen button clicked, some data report in HTML format will be created and displayed onto a web page.

If OK is clicked, the tool will perform accordingly. All modifications will be written into current model.

An information box will finally report what have been done.
